Our 1942 Stinson V77 Gullwing is outfitted in red leather and woodlined opulence of the type enjoyed by stars of the silver screen. This tough and reliable aircraft was not always for the rich and famous. During WW2, it operated as both a submarine hunter and an army liaison aircraft on the forward edge of the battle area. This particular aircraft was personally owned by General Curtis E. LeMay whilst based at the home of Strategic Air Command, Offutt Air Force base, Omaha, Nebraska. It is understood that this aircraft was used to keep him current in recent flying experience and also for “hunting missions” into Canada. No doubt the roll down window was a feature that the general utilised extensively to expel his cigar fumes from the cabin. This aircraft will give you a classic and stylish flying experience over the dramatic landscapes of AlUla. Fly over Elephant Rock, Hegra, Dadan, AlUla old town and Hijaz Railway station, flown at a moderate speed to allow for plenty of time in the air and lots of photo opportunities.
